A ROAD in Fordingbridge is set to close for six weeks from this week for footway resurfacing works.
Whitsbury Road will be closed from Tuesday, April 11 until to Friday, May 26.
During the closure, footway resurfacing will take place with the work split into two phases.
The first phase will see a closure between the junction for Green Lane to the junction with Park Road.
Phase two will see a closure from the junctions to Park Road to Pennys Lane.
Diversions will be in place.
Due to the footway being resurfaced, a temporary walkway will be set up on the road for pedestrians.
To ensure the works are completed safely, Hampshire County Council have decided to close the road to vehicles for the duration of the maintenance.
Working hours will be from 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday but the road will be closed to vehicles 24/7.
Residents have been asked to not park their vehicles in the area while the works are taking place, and to also not use the regular footway unless directed to do so.
A marshal will be on site during working hours to make sure residents can access their properties.
For urgent enquires call: 0300 555 1388 (8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday) or, outside of office hours, phone 101.
