A DORSET touring arts charity has launched its summer programme, featuring 13 artists and 17 rural venues.
With performances from Studland to Sturminster Newton, Lytchett Matravers and Langton Matravers, Artsreach hopes to bring a variety of global performing artists to Dorset’s communities.
The programme features live music, theatre, dance, storytelling, poetry, family shows and more, and begins in Gillingham on April 19, as Norwegian dance troupe, Panta Rei Danseteater, perform Make Me Dance.
Venues range from the Mowlem in Swanage to local village pubs, aiming to bring shows for people to enjoy ‘in the heart of their communities’.
The programme runs throughout the summer season across the county, before a season finale at Pennsylvania Castle in Portland, for a pedal-powered cinema screening of The Illusionist.
Yvonne Gallimore of Artsreach said: “Following a fantastic spring season full of sell-out performances, we are excited to unveil this exciting new summer programme.
“With music, circus, cinema and family theatre and more taking place across the county, we hope that there is something for everyone to enjoy with friends and family in the coming months.”
