AS THE sun rises on what already promises to be a glorious weekend my expectations increase tenfold because Teddy Rocks is back, and it looks like it is going to be bigger and better than ever.
The line-up for Friday night (April 28) sees Goldie Looking Chain, East 17 and The Venga Boys headlining the main stage with the crowd increasing as the night goes on culminating in a brilliant party atmosphere that continues late into the evening.
This year sees a great line-up with the variety of bands spread over the different stages meaning that there is something for everyone.
I did catch the bigger acts and enjoyed them all, but I have to say that there was some real entertainment to be found on all of the other stages.
I caught Lightwave an excellent rock act before moving on and spending some time trying to work out what Nanowar of Steel were up to. It was time well spent as they were one of the best acts of the evening.
I also managed to spend a bit of time taking in Saints of Sin, Tragedy, Snake Eyes and The Outlaw Orchestra who may have just edged it as my favourite band of the night.
With plenty of food and non-musical entertainment on offer this was a great first night. The weather looks to be holding so Saturday and Sunday are looking good with Feeder and Jake Bugg to come along with a whole raft of others.
I can’t wait.
