HUNDREDS of motorcycle enthusiasts had a first look at the world-famous Ducati’s first ever Dorset dealership in Ferndown over the weekend.

The historic Italian brand opened its new 7,000 sq ft dealership, which boasts an impressive showroom of motorcycles, historic and new, for sale, as well as Ducati-branded clothing, a café and a workshop, in Ferndown Industrial Estate on Sunday.

Eight jobs have been created and Dorset's motorcyclists hailed the opening on home turf, with Winchester previously housing the closest dealership.

Guests were treated to free pizza and drinks, a look at the 2023 Ducati and Ducati Scrambler range and former MotoGP rider Chaz Davies took part in a Q&A session with commentator Greg Haines.

Fabrizio Cazzoli, managing director of Ducati UK, said the dealership has “everything we want” and described it as “beautiful”.

He added: “For me, personally, this is the dream I have always had for the standard of Ducati dealerships which is built in-line with the new strategy called ‘raise the bar’.

“This is why I am so thrilled and almost moved to see something which was first on paper executed so well – it's better than I expected, very happy. The guys have done a fantastic job.

“In order to maintain a coherence with the corporate identity, the easiest way to do it in Europe at least is to have the same supplier otherwise you risk slightly different colour and quality and so on.”

Chaz Davies, former MotoGP World Championship rider for Ducati, said the dealership is an “amazing setup”, adding: “They’ve put a lot of work in here and it’s a great size.

“There’s a hell of an attendance here today and it looks like Ducati is in good company with a Porsche dealership across the road.

“This is one of the nicest Ducati dealerships I have been to.”

John Piper, brand manager at Ducati Bournemouth, said the dealership is “beyond all our dreams”, adding: “Ducati has recently got a strapline and ethos called ‘raise the bar’ and it is all about doing exactly that: bringing Ducati as a premium brand to a higher standard.

“This is exactly what we have done here which is to raise the bar in terms of the facilities and the service we provide and make it a premium destination where people want to come.

“People can admire these beautiful bikes, purchase them, have them serviced. Our workshop facilities are fantastic.”
