A LEADING Dorset law firm has appointed three new partners to aid ongoing growth in the region.
Trethowans Solicitors has made the appointments, two of which are internal promotions, to boost its insolvency services.
Melia Hirst, based in the firm’s Bournemouth office, has joined from another leading Dorset law firm.
Melia advises on insolvency and restructuring matters and acts for insolvency practitioners, banks and financiers, as well as directors of insolvent companies. She also handles solvent liquidations and group reorganisations.
Additionally, Melia has significant experience in sales and purchases of distressed businesses. She also advises landlords, suppliers and others contracting with an entity that becomes insolvent.
Mariana Crawford and Louise Thompson have also been promoted from senior associates to partners and will be based in Trethowans’ Salisbury and Southampton offices respectively.
All three new partners will service work across the business’ five offices in the region, including Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.
Mariana joined the firm back in 2019 and works closely with local and national developers often as a recommended solicitor.
Louise, a long-standing member of the firm, joined Trethowans upon qualifying back in 2008.
She is a commercial contracts lawyer with many years of experience in supporting clients from a wide range of industries. She is also an expert on data protection law.
Of the appointments, Trethowans managing partner Mike Watson said: “We are delighted to be announcing our new partners. We are pleased to recognise the talent that we have within the business by promoting Mariana and Louise and welcoming Melia who will boost our restructuring and insolvency offering.
“The appointments will support our ongoing growth in the region as our reputation continues to grow.”
Trethowans sponsors many initiatives within its locations including the Ageas Bowl and Hampshire Cricket, Bournemouth Pavilion and Poole Pirates Speedway.
