A POPULAR vegan restaurant in Bournemouth has announced it will be closing its doors.
Mighty Wieners in the Triangle will be shutting on Sunday, May 21 as its owners make “life changes”.
First launched as a mobile street food business, Mighty Weiners took its permanent home on ‘Wiener Island’ in August 2020.
It has since remained a popular eatery in the town, serving a range of vegan goods including hot dogs, burgers, brunches, desserts and smoothies.
The news of its closure was announced in a Facebook post.
Owners Chris and Kate wrote: “Hey guys, it’s with a heavy heart that we have to let you know that we are going to be closing the restaurant on the 21st May.
“We’ve not taken this decision lightly as we absolutely love what we do and what we’ve created at Wiener Island but times have changed and due to life changes, Chris & Kate are in need of a different work/life balance.
“It’s not the end of Wieners you’ll continue to see us out and about at events and pop-ups. If there’s anywhere you’d like to see us, let us know.
“We would love to see as many of your lovely faces as possible between now and the 21st so we can go out with a bang.
“We love you guys, you’ve allowed us to live our dream and made us what we are.”
