CROWDS are set to be wowed by a World War Two flypast at a Dorset museum’s annual festival.
A Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster bomber will do a flypast over the Tankfest festival at the Tank Museum in June.
The aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will fly over the event on selected days, as a part of the line-up of historic vehicles for the crowds to enjoy.
The Spitfire and Hurricane will be flying over the museum on Saturday, June 24 and the Lancaster will soar over on Sunday, June 25.
Head of marketing at the Tank Museum, Nik Wyness, said: “Tankfest is well-known as an event for military history enthusiasts to see some of the rarest running historic tanks in the world.
“Now we’re giving tank nuts and aviation fans alike the rare opportunity to glimpse these Second World War planes soaring over their armoured vehicle counterparts.
“We’d like to thank the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight for sharing another piece of history with our Tankfest audience and helping us to honour those who fought during the Second World War.”
