A PET food bank has opened in Bournemouth with the support of Castlepoint shopping centre.
Working in partnership with Dorset Dogs CIC, the food bank was opened at Townsend Community Fridge in Jewell Road on May 16.
Nicky Crowe, founder of Dorset Dogs CIC, said: “Thank you to Castlepoint for your offer of ongoing support and for making it possible to open a Pet Food Bank in Townsend.
“It is going to significantly help the local community of humans and pets”.
David Pickett, Castlepoint’s centre manager, said: “Castlepoint is at the heart of such a great community, and it is important for us to support as many local organisations and charities as possible.
“The Pet Food Bank will help so many who need extra support, and we are pleased that Dorset Dogs was suggested to us as part of our project positivity initiative and are proud to be a part of it.”
Dorset Dogs CIC and their Pet Food Bank initiative were suggested to Castlepoint as a project positivity initiative, and the centre said it was delighted to get involved.
The yearlong initiative by Castlepoint aims to help the community through volunteering charity initiatives, donations, events and more.
