THUNDERY showers and highs of 28C could be experienced in the Dorset region this weekend.
Weather watcher Dorset Snow says a plume of warm air will arrive on Friday, June 9, and help “rocket temperatures” into the mid to high 20s.
This comes after the south west of England was issued with the first heat-health warning of the year by the Met Office and UK Health Security Agency.
Temperatures could increase on Thursday (June 8) and Friday (June 9) before possibly reaching 29 degrees on Saturday (June 10) prior to spells of thunder, the Met Office said.
This too is the assessment from Dorset Snow, which said: “27C possible on Friday and then potentially up towards 28C on Saturday and Sunday. A slight risk of some heavy thundery showers first thing on Saturday morning.”
Dorset Snow did, however, add that it would “not be surprised if we miss out” on the thunder – with Cornwall, Devon and Somerset deemed more likely to be hit.
