SUMMER nights will be illuminated by a host of spectacular free firework displays.

Traditional summer firework displays will once again take place over Bournemouth and Poole in July and August.

Six weeks of dazzling displays will take place on Poole Quay every Thursday night from July 27 to August 31.

Spectators will be able to enjoy free entertainment from 7pm ahead of a fireworks finale at 10pm.

The entertainment will include live music, family street entertainment and some rides and activities for families.

The event is organised by BCP Council’s tourism arm.

Then on Friday nights between August 4 and 25, people will be able to see fireworks over Bournemouth Pier and seafront.

Four nights of displays will take place on Friday nights in August.

Further fireworks will take place on Friday, September 1 and Saturday, September 2, as part of the Bournemouth Air Festival.

This year’s air festival will be held between Thursday, August 31 and Sunday, September 3.

The RAF Red Arrows, Typhoon and Battle of Britain will feature as part of this year’s event which is now in its 14th year.
