DETECTIVES are hunting for a short man with a large stomach after cash was reportedly stolen from a corner shop.
Police received a report a man had entered the Lotus convenience store in The Parade in Waterloo Estate, Poole and made threats to a member of staff.
He then reportedly took an unknown amount of cash from the till before fleeing from the incident shortly before lunchtime on Sunday, June 11.
The offender is described as around five feet three inches tall and with a large stomach and was wearing a black balaclava.
Detective Constable Thomas Norman, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was a very distressing incident for the staff member to have experienced and we have launched a full investigation to identify the man responsible.
“Detectives are carrying out a range of enquiries and I would urge anyone who was in the area and witnessed any suspicious activity to please contact us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured any relevant mobile phone, home CCTV or dashcam footage.”
