A BUDGET high street retail chain has quashed any rumour that it will be closing one of its shops later this year.
Speculation has been spreading on social media that Wilko, in Victoria Road, Ferndown, was to be closing at some point later this year.
However, a spokesman confirmed to the Daily Echo that this would not be the case and that it is “committed” to serving customers.
He said: “We have no plans to close our Wilko Ferndown store and remain committed to helping local customers get the household and garden products they need.”

Last year, Wilko closed its Bournemouth town centre shop in Richmond Gardens Shopping Centre off Old Christchurch Road.
Wilko also has shops in the Sovereign Shopping Centre in Boscombe, Wimborne Road in Winton and the Dolphin Centre in Poole.
Meanwhile, the Nightjar Wetherspoons pub next door recently announced it would be pulling its last pint at some point before September after it decided not to renew its lease.
The news came as a blow to residents, with concern raised over how it will affect the nightlife of Ferndown in the future.
