A TEACHER from Bournemouth has been named inspirational teacher of the year at a national awards.
A number of students and staff from across Bournemouth and Poole were honoured at the annual Best in Everyone awards.
Jessica Short, a teacher at Avonwood Primary School in Bournemouth, was named inspirational teacher of the year.
Jess’s colleagues described her as ‘warm, enthusiastic and caring’ and said she “puts children at the heart of every choice she makes”.
Chris Jackson, Avonwood’s head teacher, said: “Jess stands out from the rest as being completely dedicated in making sure every child she meets has the very best experience in school.
"She is one of the most hard-working, dedicated teachers I have ever met and has a brilliant relationship, not only with her class, but with all children she encounters throughout the school.
She thoroughly deserves this award in recognition of the amazing teacher that she is.”
Jessica said: “I am surprised, honoured and incredibly proud to receive this award. I am enormously proud to work in such a fantastic school where we treasure our relationships with children.”
The annual awards celebrate students and staff from across United Learning for their exceptional contributions to school and community life.
