BOTTLES of nitrous oxide and vodka were seized during a busy night for officers in Bournemouth Lower Gardens.

On foot patrols by neighbourhood policing officers from Bournemouth East and Christchurch yielded positive results in ridding the gardens of anti-social behaviour on Friday night (July 7).

As part of Operation Fireglow, officers seized four bottles of nitrous oxide and a bottle of vodka being consumed by underage drinkers.

They issued two dispersal orders and arrested a man for being drunk and disorderly after he was found to be “harassing a group of young people enjoying their evening”.

Operation Fireglow involves Dorset Police working alongside a large number of teams at BCP Council to protect young and vulnerable people, while preventing violence, disorder and anti-social behaviour in the town.

A Bournemouth Police spokesperson said: “We've spoken with some lovely people, listened to the Salvation Army Brass Band and while doing this carried out patrols in all our ASB hotspot locations.”

Officers will return on Saturday night.
