CHERRIES have agreed a deal worth €15million to sign Lyon midfielder Romain Faivre, the Daily Echo understands.
The 24-year-old will be immediately sent on loan to FC Lorient, a club also owned by Cherries chairman Bill Foley.
The plan is then for him to join up with Cherries for the 2024-25 campaign.
Faivre spent the second half of last season on loan at Lorient and the Ligue 1 side were desperate to keep hold of the Frenchman. They have utilised their relationship with Cherries to facilitate the move.
The Echo understands the Brittany-based club will be paying a loan fee to Cherries, and also paying Faivre's wages in full for this upcoming season.
Cherries are understood to have been impressed by Faivre’s loan spell at Lorient last season.
Prior to joining Lyon in 2022, Faivre previously played for Brest, Monaco and Tours.
It is reported Faivre will undergo his medical at Cherries on Wednesday.
Cherries are set to face Lorient in a pre-season friendly at Vitality Stadium on Saturday, August 5.
