SOMETHING smelled fishy to officers at an address in Bournemouth after they uncovered more than 400 tins of stolen tuna.
While carrying out welfare checks in north Bournemouth, neighbourhood policing team officers came across a suspicious haul of food and clothing stored at an address.
It was soon established the items were stolen.
In total, around £3,000 worth of food and clothing were found – which included 444 tins of tuna. According to officers, weapons were also discovered. Pictures of the haul shows a large knife and axe.
A Bournemouth police spokesperson said: “The resident is currently assisting us with our enquiries and we are trying to find out where the items were stolen from.
“Thanks again to the local community for the intel we base our police work on, keep using the Dorset Police website to report this and 999 should you need us there in a flash.”
