THOUSANDS are expected to attend a number of fireworks displays in Bournemouth and Poole starting this weekend.
This year’s displays start on Poole Quay this Thursday, July 27 and continue on August 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth’s seafront fireworks displays will take place every Friday from August 4, 11, 18 and 25.
Morebus is urging visitors to the impressive displays to leave their cars at home and catch the bus in a bid to reduce the inevitable congestion around the displays.
Morebus general manager, Richard Wade, said: “The roads in-and-around the locations of these popular Thursday and Friday events are likely to be incredibly congested - with many wanting to enjoy the free entertainment on offer.
“Our buses are ready-and-waiting to take people right into the centre of the action - with routes accessible from areas right across the two towns.
“And, with the £2 fare cap for single journeys still in place until at least 31 October 2023, we are encouraging as many people as possible to travel with us and beat the congestion on the road network and in the car parks.”
He added: “These are spectacular displays that will start people’s weekends off with a bang, and we will be running extra buses to help us keep up with demand.
“Our team is standing by to ensure those visiting the events can do so easily and in comfort, safe in the knowledge that they can enjoy themselves without having to worry about driving and finding a parking space.”
