A NEW street market-style shop is set to open its doors to customers next week in Bournemouth town centre.

Fantastic Things Emporium will be opening for business on Tuesday, August 1, in The Arcade off Old Christchurch Road.

The move expands on the success of its flagship store in Christchurch, with owners saying they hope the opening will “kickstart a much-needed renaissance of the town centre shopping experience”.

The store model gives an 'affordable entry point' for small, independent businesses to trade within a larger retail space and primarily focuses on gifts, homeware, clothing, crafts and antiques,

Fantastic Things proprietor, Mark Battistini, said: “We are more than excited to be opening in Bournemouth on August 1, and ready to welcome our new customers, as well as welcoming our new and existing independent traders.

“More than anything, our aim is to provide a brand-new shopping experience to The Arcade, and to Bournemouth.

“We hope to provide the same, fantastic atmosphere that we have created at our flagship store in Christchurch.”

The store will trade from the unit last occupied by fashion outlet White Stuff, which closed at The Arcade in September last year.

BCP Council recently launched a survey for residents to suggest ideas for how to regenerate the town centre.

Fantastic Things Emporium will be open seven days a week from 10am.
