A YELLOW weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for Saturday with strong winds expected to last most of the day.
Meanwhile, Sunday will be much calmer and will feel “rather cool but pleasant” meaning there is still hope of doing something fun this weekend.
Here is a round-up of five things you can do in Dorset this weekend:
The Great Dorset Chilli Festival:
The weather may be cold, but this is bound to be the hottest weekend in Dorset as the festival returns to Stock Gaylard Estate, Sturminster Newton on Sunday.
The event had been due to take place on Saturday, August 5, but has been cancelled due to the bad weather.
A spokesperson for the festival said: “We're lining up a glorious weekend of ‘chilli fiesta’, with stalls selling all things chilli, from pepper plants to cayenne condiments; seeds to ceramics; artisan food producers; music; chilli eating competitions; spicy street food; local ice creams to cool the mouth; local beers to slake the thirst.
Indian Mela Festival:
Lovers of Indian food and culture can show up to the annual festival in Poole Park on Sunday, August 6.
Initially due to happen on Saturday, the weather caused organisers to reschedule – but it will be here showcasing all that’s great about India.

Dancing Terraces:
Get your dancing shoes on and try something different this Saturday evening by trying out a free Vintage Jazz class with Ruby Adams.
Taking place from 7pm in Westover Road, Pavilion Dance South West are offering free outdoor dance classes for people of all ages and abilities.
Yoga sessions:
Free sessions are to be held in Bournemouth and Poole this Sunday from 9.30am: one in Poole Park and another in Bournemouth Central Gardens, opposite the Town Hall.
The hour-long session is suitable for people of all ages and abilities, including children, and those taking part will need to bring their own mat.
BSO Symphonic Spectacular:
This won’t be any ordinary BSO performance. The world-famous symphony orchestra will be performing classic hits from Swedish pop superstar group ABBA.
Taking place in Meyrick Park on Saturday evening, the show will conclude with a fireworks display.
