We invited readers on the Bournemouth Echo Facebook page to share their top tips for first-time visitors.
Here’s a selection of their comments.
1. Get there as early as possible and take your own food and drink.
2. Take your own food and drinks, park further away from town and walk in or catch a bus. Get boxes of lollies/ice cream from Tesco in the square rather then paying the same amount for one.
3. Great show go every year sit half way between Boscombe and Bournemouth piers for best views.
4. Use the park and ride as you come into Bournemouth, as there is NO parking in the streets near the event and car parks get full very quickly.
5. Go early and take a picnic.
6. Book a tent pitch or b n b room early and use local busses or taxis to the beach front ..get a pack lunch from Gregg's or Tesco's and bottled water ..some food vendors are reasonable but some are not explore and enjoy.
7. Park well away, get the bus and take your own supplies. Leave early or late to avoid the bus queues on the way out.
8. Buy a program, so you know what's going on and where.and the times.
9. I'd say get there earlier and bring a camping chair. Bring your own food n drinks. And also bring a camera. And sun cream. And cash and card payments..And I say enjoy it..
10. Get the More Bus, £2 per journey, cheaper and more convenient than the car parks even if you can get a space.
11. Take fold up chairs, umbrella, waterproofs, sunhat, sunglasses, sun cream (yes, you will need all those things in just one day lol) and don't leave straight after the Red Arrows display. It's hell on earth with the traffic.
12. At least buy something while you are here. It's great free entertainment and stallholders pay a fair bit to be there.
13. Don’t leave litter around put in bins that are provided.
