A MAN has been arrested in connection with a reported rape in Bournemouth.
At 4.04am on Friday, August 11, Dorset Police received a report that a woman had been raped by a man in Horseshoe Common.
A cordon was set up by police and crime scene investigators were seen to be gathering evidence throughout the day.
A rape investigation was launched and, on Saturday, August 12, a CCTV appeal was issued by police showing an image of a man officers wished to speak to.
Detective Inspector Nicky Jenkins, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Following enquiries, a 30-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
“We have updated the victim with this development and she continues to be supported by officers.”
