A drug driver who used his phone at the wheel of a van on the A31 has been banned.
Harry Hill, 26, appeared before Southampton Magistrates’ Court over the incident on March 7.
Hill, whose address was given as King John Avenue, Bournemouth, admitted drug driving, using a mobile phone while driving and using a motor vehicle without insurance.
Court papers stated he was driving a Ford Transit on the A31 at Burley.
He provided a sample of blood which contained 218 micrograms of benzoylecgonine, the main metabolite of cocaine, per litre of blood. The specified limit is 50 micrograms per litre of blood.
The defendant was fined £300 and he was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 16 months.
Hill was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £120 surcharge.
