A COW failed to moo-ve off a busy dual carriageway last night prompting police to be called.
Officers were called to after a cow ‘mistakenly’ escaped its field along the A35 close to Bakers Arms Roundabout, Poole on Sunday evening at around 6pm.
One man joked on social media: “Could be my mother in-law,” while another person said: “That's no way to talk about other innocent road users”.
Another man thought the cow was off for a pint at The Baker’s Arms pub with another saying it is “udderly ridiculous” a cow had escaped.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 6.11pm on Sunday 17 September 2023 of a cow in the road near to the Bakers Arms Roundabout on the A35 near Poole.
“Officers attended and it was reported at around 7pm that the cow had returned to its field.”
Earlier this summer, two cows died on Bakers Arms Roundabout after a livestock lorry carrying nearly 60 animals toppled over.
Environmental activist group PETA later wrote to Dorset Council asking for a plaque to be installed in their memory but this has yet to happen.
