A NURSERY that is part of an award-winning chain has been slammed by the education watchdog.
Youngsters at Kindred Bournemouth are 'left to wander disengaged'.
Meanwhile, others engage in repetitious play for extended periods of time, with no interaction from staff.
Ofsted inspectors found that staff at the nursery in Kinson Road lacked training and were unaware of which children they were looking after.
The nursery on Kinson Road employs a team of 22 staff, made up of permanent and bank staff.
At the time of the inspection in May this year, there were 165 children on the roll.
Inspectors rated the nursery as ‘inadequate’ having previously given it a 'good' rating in 2016.
They found that babies were generally ‘well-supported’ however, older children were not.
Inspectors found that some children were left to repeatedly play with play dough, which left them bored with a lack of challenges.
Leaders do not provide staff with coaching and support and most employees have not received an induction since joining the nursery, their report stated.
Ofsted inspectors also found a lack of understanding of safeguarding put children at risk.
Children with special educational needs were also not well supported as a result of staff’s lack of awareness of their needs.
