TWO Bournemouth restaurants have been recognised as among the best places to eat in the country in the TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Awards.

Lolas Restaurant and Twelve Eatery have been named on the website’s annual awards, which are based on reviews and ratings over the past year.

The Best of the Best Restaurants awards are divided into five categories for the UK: Fine Dining, Date Night, Everyday Eats, Hidden Gems and Vegetarian.

Twelve Eatery placed fourth in the vegetarian category, carrying a five out of five rating based on 595 reviews and ranking at second on TripAdvisor for Bournemouth restaurants.

The restaurant says it is passionate about ‘creating the future of sustainability with nutrient-dense plant-based foods’.

It adds: “There are no obvious vegan cues and most of our guests don’t even make the connection that the menus is plant-based, for us it's all about organic and sustainability.”

“Twelve is defined not by what’s missing but by what it is.”

Lolas Restaurant is an authentic Spanish tapas restaurant in Commercial Road, and is seventh in the 'Hidden Gems' category.

It is described by the site as ‘a little bit of Spain on the south coast of England’.

The restaurant also has a rating of five, based on 1,255 reviews, making it as the fifth highest rated on TripAdvisor in Bournemouth.
