A New Forest restaurant which showcases seasonal and local ingredients has scooped a coveted foodie award.
Staff at The Terrace Restaurant at The Montagu Arms in Beaulieu are celebrating their three rosettes, awarded at the AA Hospitality Awards this week.
One thousand guests from across the UK hospitality sector gathered at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London for the awards, which also saw The Pig Hotel Group, which has a venue in the Forest, win the sustainable award.
The event was hosted by Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman and celebrated the country's top hotels, spas, restaurants and pubs and the people behind them.
Drawing inspiration from its incredible surroundings within the national park, The Terrace, the hotel’s main restaurant, offers a modern British menu featuring seasonal and local ingredients.
Inspired by the seasons and an abundant local larder, diners can expect refined dishes such as Cured Chalk Stream Trout, pickled cucumber, and croutons and Lyons Hill Farm Beef, bone marrow mashed potato, garden beans, and Madeira jus.
Andrew Berridge, General Manager at The Montagu Arms, said: "We are delighted that our restaurant The Terrace has been awarded three rosettes at the AA Hospitality Awards this year and that the team's commitment to showcasing the amazing local produce from the New Forest is being recognised with such a renowned and prestigious award. It is all down to the hard work and dedication of our incredible chefs and team - I'm so proud of them."
The AA Hospitality Awards named Paul Ainsworth of Paul Ainsworth at No.6 as the chefs' chef.
Angela Hartnett, the Michelin starred chef and Gordon Ramsay protegee whose name is above the door at Hartnett, Holder & Co. at Limewood, was given the Outstanding Contribution Award.
Simon Numphud, managing director at AA Media, said: "The last year has been tough on the hospitality industry as we've felt, like many others, the challenges facing businesses. Yet I'm so proud of the resilience, innovation and quality shown by the UK hospitality industry in response.
"We would like to extend a massive congratulations all the winners and shortlisted establishments for their hard work, passion, and dedication."
