A MAN has been banned from a large number of shops in Dorset after a spate of shoplifting committed.
Adrian Anthony Lashley, 51, must not enter any Tesco or Co-Op in the county for two years, the court has ordered.
Lashley, of Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, is not to remain in any shop, commercial or hospitality premises if he is asked to leave by staff, security or any person who is involved within the county.
If he is found breaching the order, he is liable to be arrested and brought back before the court.
Appearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 22, Lashley was jailed for 56 days after admitting eight counts of theft from Co-Op stores in Bournemouth.
Police Constable Jack Gibson, of Bournemouth police, said: “Dorset Police is committed in bringing offenders to justice and putting our victims and communities first.
“We will continue to work hard to support businesses and take action against those involved in criminal behaviour such as shoplifting.
“We continue to urge anyone with information relating to shoplifting in their communities to report it to Dorset Police either online at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101. If a crime is in progress, always dial 999.”
