ROADS across Bournemouth will be closed this weekend as runners pound the pavement in an annual running event.
Run Bournemouth returns to the town on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8, with a variety of races across the weekend.
The event attracts thousands of competitors, however, will see road closures put in place.
Undercliff Drive will be shut between 6am on Saturday, October 7 and 4pm on Sunday, October 8.
Sea Road will be between 6pm on Saturday, October 7 and 3pm on Sunday, between Undercliff Road to the roundabout.
Broadway will close from Clowes Avenue to Hengistbury Head between 5pm on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday.
On Sunday, Boscombe Cliff Road and Boscombe Overcliff Drive will both be shut between 7am and 1pm.
Byron Road will be fully closed, including its link road to Boscombe Cliff Road, until 2pm.
Dalmeny Road is to be closed for 60m each side of Harbour Road, between 7am and 2.30pm.
East Overcliff Drive will be fully closed between 7am and 4pm, up to the junction with Manor Road.
Southbourne Coast Road will be shut between 7am and 2.30pm, and Southbourne Overcliff Drive closed until 1pm.
Run Bournemouth sees thousands compete across seven races.
Saturday sees children from three to six-years-old take on the Kids’ Kilometre at 12.30pm.
Youngsters aged six to eight will run the junior 1.5km at 1.30pm, with runners aged nine to 12 challenging themselves with the junior 2km at 2.30pm.
The final junior race is the junior 5km, for runners aged 11 to18, at 3.30pm.
All the junior races start on the promenade and end near the Run Bournemouth Hub in the Lower Gardens.
Also on Saturday is the supernova 5k, which takes place at dusk, along the same route as the junior 5km. Sunday sees the two longest races of the event, with the supersonic 10km beginning at 9am at Hengistbury Head.
Runners work their way along the seafront to both Boscombe and Bournemouth piers, finishing at the Hub in the gardens.
The final event of the weekend, the half marathon, begins at 11am.
The race starts at Hengistbury Head and works its way on the roads into Boscombe, before doubling back on itself towards the nature reserve.
It then joins the promenade and runners will head onto both piers before the finish in the gardens.
