A BOURNEMOUTH pub will remain closed for the next few days following a fire.

Firefighters attended Brewhouse and Kitchen in Bournemouth Triangle on Friday morning, October 6, to extinguish a fire in its basement.

Commercial Road was temporarily closed by police whilst Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service dealt with the incident.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service said: "We were called to a property on Commercial Road, Bournemouth at 4.41am today following reports of alarms sounding and the smell of smoke.

"Four breathing apparatus wearers used one hose reel jet and one safety jet to extinguish the fire. The stop message came in at 6.20am and the crews remained on scene until 6.45am."

Kris Gumbrell, CEO of Brewhouse and Kitchen, said: “We had a small fire at the point of the electrical feed into the building in the early hours of this morning.

"The fire was detected and dealt with quickly and SSE has made the electrical feed to the building safe whilst we investigate and prepare to reinstate the supply.

"There is no structural damage and no one was hurt, we hope to have the power back on again within the next week and be ready to reopen again very soon.

"We have made arrangements to transfer bookings to our other venues in the area and we look forward to welcoming our guests to our Bournemouth Brewpub as soon as we can.”
