SIGNIFICANT delays are expected in Bournemouth next week as a roundabout will be shut for resurfacing work.
A full road closure at the West Howe Roundabout, in Ringwood Road past Turbary Retail Park, will be in place from Monday, October 23.
It is expected to last for five days.
What is the diversion route?
The council says traffic coming from the north can go via Magna Road, Queen Anne Drive, Gravel Hill, Dorset Way and onto Canford Way.
There will be no access from Knighton Heath Road or Poole Lane to the West Howe roundabout during the work, as well as the A348 Ringwood Road.
Will businesses remain open?
Yes, they will, but we have heard from some who are not happy it is taking place in the run up to Halloween.
Small businesses have come together to lament the road closure and fear footfall will be down in what is a crucial week leading up to the holiday.

Access to shops and businesses at the nearby retail parks and industrial estates will be maintained via the service road that runs adjacent to the A348 Ringwood Road from Lidl to Dunelm and The Range.
Why is the closure taking place this week?
Environment portfolio holder at BCP Council Cllr Andy Hadley said the work is being carried out in the Autumn half term holidays to “minimise, as much as possible, the impact” on residents and commuters.
He added there is an embargo to working on major work during the peak summer season and that the council wanted to avoid working during Christmas – so this week was the best bet for them.
What benefits will the new surface bring?
A nice, smooth piece of tarmac. Cllr Hadley said the resurfacing will make a “huge difference” to the roundabout, which has endured years of wear and tear.
He also says the material used will ensure the road stays “robust” for a long time.
