A LIFEBOAT has been launched to help a broken-down rib with three people onboard.
Volunteers from Poole RNLI were tasked to assist the boat just before 6.30pm on Sunday, October 15.
The 8.7m rib had broken down at the eastern end of Brownsea Island.
The lifeboat crew located the rib and found everyone onboard to be safe and well.
A tow was attached, and the rib was taken back to Cobbs Quay.
Volunteers then returned to the station, before refuelling the lifeboat and making it ready for service by 8.45pm.
The call-out happened during the Service of Sea event, which saw crew members gather at St James' Church Poole’ with their families.
It was also the 141st call-out for the Poole RNLI volunteers.
