THE South Coast Makers Market in Bournemouth has moved to a new location.
Previously on the first floor of Bobby’s department store, the popular market is now based on The Avenue on Commercial Road.
The decision behind the move followed ‘continued renovation works’ at Bobby’s.
The Avenue reopened its first floor – previously home to Sports Direct – on Thursday, October 12, to welcome the market.
The space has been described as a “large and flexible event space open to the community”.
The new South Coast Makers Market will feature vintage clothing stalls, Flaming Nora’s ‘Stay and Play’ area for children and a craft workshop programme.
An exhibition from local artist Mirek Lucan will also be opening on October 29, and additional makers are due to arrive on November 1.
The venue’s first event will be a fun, family-friendly Mexican Day of the Dead Celebration on October 28 from 10am until 4pm.
The free one-day event will include arts and crafts workshops, Mexican food, face painting, short film screenings, dancing, and art exhibitions.
The Makers’ Christmas Market begins on November 18 – a day which also marks Makers’ 5th birthday.
Eats n Beats will be DJing, and the Funky Choir will be singing away.
