TWO notorious shoplifters have been banned from all Tesco, Waitrose and Co-Op shops in Dorset for the next two years.
Nadine Kowalski and Stephen Olin Rolfe, both 27 and from Bournemouth, pleaded guilty to a string of offences committed earlier this year.
Kowalski had admitted 38 theft offences committed between May 11 and August 8, while Rolfe had also entered guilty pleas to 19 offences during the same period.
The pair were sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on Tuesday, October 31.
Kowalski was jailed for 36 weeks, and Rolfe for 24 weeks.
Ahead of the hearing, officers from the Bournemouth North Neighbourhood Policing Team applied for a criminal behaviour order against the pair.
The court agreed and ordered the defendants to stay away any Tesco, Waitrose or Co-Op store in Dorset for the next two years.
Neighbourhood inspector Fern Graham said: “We recognise the impact the offending of these prolific shoplifters has had on businesses in our area, and we have worked hard to compile evidence to secure these prison sentences and orders that will protect stores from future offending.
“If these defendants breach the terms of their orders, they are liable to be arrested and will find themselves back before the court.”
