CARS were crushed by a tree which came crashing down in a Bournemouth neighbourhood.
A row of parked cars were written off this morning after a tree collapsed in the wind in Dean Park Road, Bournemouth.
Nobody was injured in the incident, but it did block the road for much of the morning as authorities cleared up the mess.
Torrential rain and gusty winds was reported across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole last night.
It left significant surface water on a number of roads.
A spokesperson for Bournemouth Police said: “It's been a busy morning in the rain and wind for Bournemouth south neighbourhood policing team.
“Initially tasked with some welfare checks we were diverted to several emergencies where the roads were blocked in some dangerous locations.
“One of which was the result of a large tree falling onto parked cars and obstructing the road.
“Thankfully no one was hurt. We would like to remind everybody to take care during the winter months. Drive carefully and if you see any issues please report them so the relevant agencies can deal.”
Dorset Police has been approached for more details.
