A MAN from Christchurch is due to appear in court after a ‘hate crime’ at London Waterloo station.
James Thomas, 33 and of Forest Way in Christchurch, is one of three men to have been charged with racially aggravated public order offences.
This is in connection with an incident at the station on Saturday, November 11.
The racially aggravated incident happened at around 5.30pm, shortly after a demonstration was dispersed from the station.
Thomas is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on December 13.
Ian Beim, 57 and of The Crescent in Surbiton and Kevin Sweeney, 61 and of Upper Farm Road in West Molesey, have also been charged with the same offence.
The three men have been released with conditions to attend court in December. Beim and Sweeney are due to attend Westminster Magistrates on December 18.
After a video was posted on social media of the incident, British Transport Police issued an image appeal of four men.
The national force confirmed on Monday, November 13 that three men had been arrested after the appeal.
It confirmed on November 15 that a fourth person had been arrested in connection with the incident.
