TWO people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a motorcycle.

Police were called to Canford Avenue in Bournemouth following the crash involving a grey Suzuki motorcycle and a pedestrian.

Both the rider, a local man in his 50s, and the pedestrian, a local woman in her 60s, were seriously injured and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Road closures were put in place along Canford Avenue at the junctions of Wallisdown Road, Dawes Avenue, Canford Road and Kinson Road while emergency services attended the incident.

Officers investigating the crash at around 5.30pm on Tuesday are now appealing for witnesses.

Police sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the traffic unit, said: “I am aware that there were a number of people and vehicles in the area at the time of the collision and I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened, and has not yet spoken to officers, to please get in touch.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who captured all or part of the incident on dashcam as this would greatly assist our investigation.”
