YOUNGSTERS will be able to meet their favourite superheroes at a special event aiming to collect Christmas presents for disadvantaged children.

Famous film characters including Captain America, Indiana Jones, Iron Man, and Elsa and Anna from Frozen will be making an appearance at The Dolphin Poole.

The characters will be greeting fans to help encourage a record number of present donations to Cash For Kids which collects presents for children in Bournemouth and Poole who would otherwise go without a gift.

Taking place on Saturday, December 2, between 9.30am and 4pm, the event will also feature a performance of movie music at 11am, with a carol concert by the Funky Little Choir at 1pm.

Alongside this, children will have the opportunity to meet their heroes and be a hero themselves by donating a gift to someone in need, with one present drop point featuring a special military Jeep.

John Grinnell, centre manager at The Dolphin Poole, said: “We’re determined to donate a record number of gifts to make sure local children in need have a Christmas present to open this year.”

Event organiser Wayne Mandeville of C-Star said: “There is bound to be a hero at this event for every film lover and our characters are going to be on hand all day to help make a real difference for the local community.”
