A MAN was assaulted in an alleyway by a group of young people in broad daylight.
The victim aged in his 50s was approached by three youths on bikes who asked him for some money.
The man was assaulted after telling the group he did not have any.
Police said the man sustained bruising to his eye and swelling to his head.
The incident occurred at around 2pm in an alleyway off Arnold Close, leading to Station Road, in West Moors.
It happened at around 2pm on Wednesday, November 22.
Police Sergeant Bill Nightingall, of East Dorset police, said: “This was an unprovoked assault and we are doing all we can to support the victim.
“I am conducting enquiries into what happened and would ask anyone with information about those responsible to please come forward.
“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen three young people on bikes acting suspiciously in the area to please get in touch.”
