A CAR was seen engulfed in flames on a slip road this afternoon.
Drivers looked in shock as they drove past the car full ablaze.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service said: “We received a call at 2.07pm this afternoon about a vehicle fire on the A338 at Blackwater Junction.
"Crews from Springbourne and Christchurch attended the incident which involved a single vehicle, well alight on arrival.
"Two breathing apparatus wearers used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and our stop was in at 2.24pm."
Dorset Police also attended to manage the incident and recover the vehicle.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
The Daily Echo has approached the ambulance service for comment.
