A MAJOR road was closed by police after a transit van left the carriageway and collided with a barrier.
Emergency services were called to reports of a single vehicle crash on the A31 eastbound near to the Coventry Arms pub in the Corfe Mullen area.
It was reported a silver Ford Transit van had left the carriageway and collided with a barrier before coming to a stop in a stream by the side of the road.
Police attended and road closures were put in place while the vehicle was recovered and fuel was cleared from the road.
There were no reports of any serious injuries.
Officers investigating the incident, which occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 21, are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
Police Constable Ashlea Gale, of East Dorset police, said: “This incident resulted in the closure of a major road and I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding during the closure.
“We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision. I would urge any witnesses to the collision itself, or the manner of driving of the vehicle involved, to please contact us.
“I would also like to hear from motorists who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage.”
