A MAN has appeared in court after a pair of £150 shoes and a dinghy were ‘stolen’.

Kerry Sean Frost, 39, is alleged to have stolen a £150 pair of shoes from Lymington high street in October.

Police arrested him after the alleged theft on Friday, November 24 and say he was caught wearing the pair of shoes which had been reported as stolen.

He has also been charged with stealing a dinghy in September on the Isle of Wight and shoplifting £75.75 worth of goods in October.

Frost, of no fixed abode, appeared at West Hampshire Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, November 25 and has been released on conditional bail.

He will reappear at West Hampshire Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 29.

A Lymington Police spokesman said: “Please be assured that the beat team at Lymington do deal with a variety of other incidents that are reported to us or that we come across during our patrols and we are not solely focused on shoplifting incidents.

“The area, particularly in the run up to Christmas, will be subjected to individuals and gangs, committing offences against the retail community and our aim is to deter potential thieves from coming to the town with publicised outcomes, to robustly deal with identified offenders and to work together with the community to reduce these (and other types of) crimes in the Lymington area.”
