TWO members of the Youth Parliament for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole have taken part in a debate at the House of Commons.
Zara Sosic and Dylan Rees-Coshan joined a debate on free school meals.
Dylan was selected as the south west debate lead and spoke at the dispatch box.
Posting on social media, BCP Council said: “Well done Dylan and Zara for your work on this and representing the views of young people in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole nationally on this important subject.”
Members of the UK Youth Parliament aim to make positive changes in their communities that will make a different to the lives of young people in the area.
They also work with MPs, councillors, and local youth groups on issues of concern.
In the last BCP Youth Parliament election in 2022, a total of 6,563 votes were cast across 25 schools and colleges.
It smashed the record for the biggest turnout in a BCP Youth Parliament election.
Zara and Dylan will remain as elected Members of Youth Parliament until the next election in 2024.
