A MAN has been quizzed by police after a brawl erupted outside a pub.
A man in his 20s has attended a voluntary police interview and is under investigation after a 'knife was used in a fight' outside The White Hart in Corn Market, Wimborne.
Although no arrests have been made, Dorset Police is continuing to investigate the incident which was “escalated by those responsible”.
As reported, a staff member was believed to have behaved in a “confrontational and aggressive” manner during the fight on November 4.
Dorset Council has received notice from the county force that it is reviewing its licence to operate after officers were led to believe the 17th-century pub is “not being responsibly managed”.
In documents submitted to the council, sergeant Gareth Gosling said the force “no longer has any confidence in the designated premises supervisor or premises licence holder to uphold the licensing objectives”.
He added: “Dorset Police have received intelligence which indicates that the member of staff with overall responsibility for the premises has deliberately obtained a weapon, during a disturbance at the premises, which further escalated the incident and placed customers, staff and members of the public at significant risk.”
The pub will now be brought before Dorset Council’s licencing sub-committee and a decision whether to revoke the licence or not will be made.
