A FIRE broke out at a block of flats near a supermarket.
Emergency services were called to Harbour Court, on West Quay Road next to Asda, shortly before 2.15pm.
Crews from six fire stations across Poole and Bournemouth were sent to the incident, and fire fighters were able to extinguish the blaze, which involved an electrical consumer unit.
The incident was scaled back to four engines shortly before 3pm.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 2:14pm today following reports of a fire at Harbour Court, West Quay Road, Poole.
“Crews from Poole, Hamworthy, Wimborne, Redhill Park, Christchurch and Westbourne were initially mobilised to the incident and on arrival crews quickly established there was a fire within one of the flats on the first floor.
“Breathing apparatus wearers used one main line safety jet and extinguishers to extinguish the fire involving an electrical consumer unit.
“The incident was scaled back to four fire engines just before 3pm and no casualties have been reported.”
Dorset Police was also called but did not attend the scene.
A spokesperson for the county force said: “Dorset Police received a report at 2.19pm of a fire in West Quay Road in Poole. The report was for awareness and officers have not attended.”
