A BAR in Poole has reopened under a new name and management after a £355,000 refurbishment.
Penn Central, a popular pub on Penn Hill Avenue, has officially reopened as Bank by Nicholas James after closing in January last year for the revamp.
As previously reported, Star Pubs & Bars installed new management after Penn Central’s long-serving landlord was told to leave.
Local pub, restaurant and bar operator, Nick Warner, took over the site after it closed for 18 months.

The new bar has been upgraded with new décor and furniture, featuring booths, high seating and free-standing tables.
The site boasts bifold doors opening onto a garden with a pergola, for an indoor-outdoor atmosphere.
A new seasonal menu has been launched to celebrate the opening.
The bar offers spirits, cocktails, and draft beer as well as a barista-style coffee machine.
The new restaurant claims to ‘set a new standard of dining in Penn Hill’ where ‘tradition meets opulence’.
Nick Warner, director of Bank by Nicholas James, said: “We had a fantastic opening night with lots of positive feedback on the new look and ambience. “Thank you to all who came along and supported us.
“We are open daily from 10am and look forward to welcoming you over the festive season and beyond.”
