A MAN was stabbed in Bournemouth town centre over the Christmas period. 

A man, in his 30s and from Bournemouth, had turned up to hospital with a stab wound saying he had been assaulted in St Michaels Road in the early hours of Saturday, December 23. 

Police officers and forensics rushed to the scene and put up a cordon examine the scene. 

It’s still not clear the circumstances of how he came about his injuries, police say, but they have said the victim and alleged culprit are known to each other. 

No arrests have been made, Dorset Police added. 

A spokesman for the force said: “Dorset Police received a report at 4.33am on Saturday 23 December 2023 that a man presented at hospital with a stab wound. His injuries are not life-threatening. 

“The victim – aged in his 30s from Bournemouth – reported that he was assaulted in St Michaels Road in Bournemouth at around 12.30am earlier in the same day.  

“A cordon was put in place while an examination of the scene was carried out.  

“An investigation is continuing into the circumstances of the incident, which is believed to involve people who are known to each other. No arrests have been made at this time.” 

Another alleged assault also took place in the next road, St Michaels Lane, the following day. 

A man in his 30s was rushed to hospital for treatment of head injuries. 

Officers arrested a 21-year-old man of no fixed abode on suspicion of assault after a fight broke out at 11.21pm on Sunday, December 24.
