A MAN remains in a serious condition following an assault in Bournemouth.
The man, aged in his 40s, was found in Charminster Road with a serious head injury in the early hours of Sunday.
It was reported that he had been assaulted by another man.
Police attended, and a cordon was put in place along the high street.
The injured man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
Following enquiries, a 33-year-old man from Poole was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
He has now been released on police bail.
Another man, also in his 40s, was stabbed in Charminster Road less than two hours prior to the incident.
The man attended hospital for injuries that were not believed to be serious.
No arrests have been made.
Police investigations into both assaults are ongoing, although officers say the incidents are not being treated as linked.
