A BEACHFRONT car park in Boscombe has been closed for several days due to a build-up of sand.
Boscombe Undercliff car park was closed for much of the festive period from Boxing Day onwards.
It is due to remain shut until the new year, BCP Council has said.
The local authority said the build-up of sand had been caused by the recent windy weather.
Posting on social media, a BCP Council spokesperson said: “Our Highways Team have cleared a route through the sand for emergency services if needed.”
They added: “Find an alternative car park.”
It comes after the Met Office issued two weather warnings within the space of a few days for strong winds for the Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole area.
Storm Gerrit brought torrential rain and high winds on Wednesday, December 27.
Just days later, the Met Office issued a fresh alert for further strong winds for much of Saturday, December 30 and into the early hours of Sunday, December 31.
Gusts of around 55mph were expected.
For the next few days, conditions are expected to be wet and mild with temperatures between 10C and 12C.
No further weather warnings have been issued for the coming days at this stage.
