POLICE patrols across Dorset responded to hundreds of incidents on New Year’s Eve and held 37 people in custody following the night’s celebrations.
Dorset Police officers working from midnight to 5am on New Year’s Day responded to over 200 incidents as the revellers celebrated 2024.
Officers shared photos of the teams working throughout the night, thanking them for spending time away from their friends and family to keep the public safe.
Bournemouth North’s Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were also out on New Year’s Eve, patrolling Charminster Road.
A spokesperson for Bournemouth North’s NPT said officers undertake the patrols to maximise public safety and to ensure communities can enjoy New Year’s Eve.
Dorset Police’s dog team joined officers throughout the night with PDs Tank, Hunter and Veena being seen on the streets.
