A KARTING team has celebrated its most successful year after winning four national championships in 2023.
Bradley Sheppard Racing (BSR), based in Wimborne, has celebrated its strongest season since its establishment in 2019.
Run by Bradley Sheppard, the team has won four national titles.
Bradley said: "We've been building up to this, we won national titles in the last few years but 2023 was a quite big year for us. It's more than we've ever won in one year."
Beginning their strong year early, the team won its first title in January in Milton Keynes.
Won by Sam Slater, Dante Dhillon, and Mateusz Bartsch, the team beat the rental kart world champions to take the title home.
The team has 25 drivers within its stable which, while providing a pool of strong talent, can be hard to manage, Bradley said.
He said: "It's tough, people always how I find the time do it all but you just have to somehow."
Split into two departments, BSR Racing offers a rental kart scheme alongside helping those who own karts enter a racing career.
The team travels across Europe competing in races with the entire team working incredibly hard to even attend events.
Bradley said: "It's everything. It's why we work incredibly hard throughout the year, putting in all the effort behind the scenes, booking hotel rooms, travelling up to the tracks, spending hours on the road.
"All this makes winning those four championships a massive achievement. It's absolutely been our most successful season."
Although the team enjoyed a strong 2023, it is already thinking about how to achieve more in 2024.
Competing again in the British Rental Kart Championships later this month, Bradley is cautiously optimistic about their chances again.
He said: "The aim is always keep on the same level. Once you win you have to keep pushing and finding those extra few tenths to make sure you win next year."
BSR Racing won the British Rental Kart Teams Championship, British Indoor Kart Championships, Kart Club Micromax Championship and Kart Club Minimax Championship.
